Job Description
Itoko Sushi offers authentic and delicious-tasting Japanese cuisine in south Calgary, AB. Situated conveniently and offering reasonable prices, our restaurant is the go to spot for both dine-in and take-out options in the southern Calgary community. At present, we’re seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager. If you’re a committed professional with a deep love for the restaurant field, we’re eager to receive your application. Working hours are 30 – 40 hours per week depends on the scheduled shifts.
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure the smooth functioning of the restaurant, including food preparation, cash handling, and customer service
Manage and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring efficient and high-quality food production
Supervise employees and arrange shifts to maintain a high level of performance and customer satisfaction
Ensure the restaurant’s compliance with health and safety regulations
Handle customer inquiries and complaints, and resolve any issues in a timely manner
Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
Build relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring a steady supply chain
Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement strategies to improve restaurant performance
Qualifications:
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate required and a post-secondary degree in Hospitality, Food and Beverage Management, Business Administration, or a related field an asset
“ProServe” Certificate preferred
Minimum two years of proven experience in a restaurant management role, with a strong background in food service and kitchen operations
Have strong, proven leadership qualities and management skills including effective staff scheduling
Strong knowledge of POS systems and cash-handling procedures
Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal communication abilities
Required languages: English
Education level: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate required and a post-secondary degree in Hospitality, Food and Beverage Management, Business Administration, or a related field an asset
