Job Description
Our restaurant is a part of a successful and well-established restaurant chain. With our recent expansion into new services, we are looking for a communications specialist with high cultural and community awareness and excellent interpersonal skills to support both internal and external communications, helping strengthen the brand and improve operations.
Job Overview:
Customer Engagement and Marketing
Craft clear and appealing messages for local promotions, seasonal offers, or community events.
Run local social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok), engaging with customers, and responding to feedback or inquiries professionally.
Run online ad campaigns (Google Ads, Facebook Ads) targeting local audiences to increase orders and foot traffic.
Collaborate with third-party delivery platforms to promote special deals.
Ensure the messaging aligns with the chain overall branding while catering to local tastes or community values.
Community Involvement
Coordinating with schools, sports teams, or charities, and promoting the restaurant’s participation in the local community.
Building good relationships with local media or influencers to increase visibility.
Local Advertising Campaigns
Create targeted advertising strategies tailored to the local market to promote our restaurant’s products, deals, and events.
Work with corporate marketing guidelines while adapting messages to fit local customer preferences.
Assist with community engagement initiatives, such as sponsoring local events or participating in charity drives.
General Advertising
Plan and execute local print ads (flyers, newspapers), radio spots, or local event sponsorships.
Organize in-store promotions and distribute promotional materials.
Monitor campaign metrics (clicks, conversions, sales increases) to measure effectiveness.
Use insights to refine future campaigns and maximize return on investment.
Digital and Visual Content Creation
Write or edit clear, appetizing descriptions for menus, flyers, or point-of-sale materials.
Develop a steady stream of content (photos, short videos, posts) that promotes engagement and foot traffic.
Reputation Management
Respond to online reviews (e.g., Google, Yelp), turning negative experiences into positive ones through thoughtful communication.
Manage messaging during incidents like food safety concerns, staff issues, or service disruptions.
Collaboration with Corporate Marketing
Align local advertising with national branding and seasonal campaigns.
Share local market feedback with corporate teams to optimize overall brand strategy.
Requirements:
Post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in Arts Administration, Business, Communications, Public Relations or equivalent.
Experience in writing, editing and communications (preferably in food serving industry).
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Strong relationship-building skills (e.g., with media, partners, or influencers).
Clear, concise, and persuasive writing, with good grammar, tone, and audience awareness
Strong speaking skills for dealing with customers, staff, and possibly media.
Ability to design engaging campaigns, social media posts, or promotions.
Ability to think outside the box to attract attention and drive traffic to the restaurant.
Proficiency in platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn with understanding how to engage audiences across such platforms.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator) and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word and Excel).
Proficiency at using Canva, Mailchimp, WordPress, Google Analytics and Google Workspace
Ability to create visuals or short videos for promotions and social posts.
Significant cultural and community awareness with understanding of the local market and community values.
Salary: $36.06/ hour ($65,600/ year)
Working hours: 35 hours / week
Vacation: 2 weeks
