Make a difference

Reporting to the Manager, the Coordinator administers and coordinates TCH’s parking services program, including processing documents for court and monitoring compliance with legislative requirements, as well as the CSU fleet services.

What you’ll do

Parking Administration Program

Responsible for parking enforcement records management
Maintains awareness of and communicates to CSU staff changes in bylaws and legislation impacting parking enforcement activities.
Liaise with Toronto Police Service and Parking Tag Operations to resolve potential areas of dispute and share information.
Assist parking clerk in resolving parking enforcement problems/complaints from residents and the public.
Liaise with Regional Operations staff to ensure problems are dealt with in a timely manner.
Establish and maintain systems to ensure the integrity of evidence required for prosecution of parking offences
Process court notifications and court excusals.
Schedule CSU officers for court and ensure overtime approval, when necessary.
Maintain awareness and communicate information to others regarding vehicle towing regulations and requirements.
Process towing invoices for payment.
Evaluate parking enforcement strategies recommending changes, as warranted.
Train CSU officers on the parking services program and responsibilities as a Municipal Law Enforcement Officer (MLEO).
Develop and apply operating procedures.
Assist in in preparation of tenders for parking related services and equipment.
Conduct regular audits for the purpose of record and information sharing.
Assist in management and supervision of parking database(s) and permit distribution.
Parking Lot Design

Provide technical expertise regarding parking lot design and regulatory signage requirements.
Conducts reviews site audits for fire routes, disabled parking, and general parking conditions.
Travel to and inspection of parking lots and structures with respect to signage
Fleet

Liaise with TCH Commercial Business Unit, City of Toronto Fleet Services and CSU staff regarding fleet vehicles, equipment, and documentation.
Maintain vehicle information.
Reconcile fleet related invoices.
Track and act as liaison for driver permit training, vehicle accident follow-up.
Maintains awareness of and communicates of TCHC and City fleet requirements.
Book appointments for preventative maintenance and ensure completion of service.
Liaise with external vendors to install and service in car technology.
Ensure field operational needs are met through scheduling and planning to allow Special Constables access to vehicles.
Process Driver Condition Reports, Daily Vehicle Inspections, and identify maintenance issues and work to limit vehicle down time for service
Monitor GeoTab software for maintenance alerts and other issues that may require attention.
Provide input on vehicle design for future fleet acquisitions.
Provide input on policy and procedure development relating to the CSU.
Monitor vendor compliance and escalate identified issues with external vendors to the Vendor Compliance Team.
Provide monthly fleet reporting for milage to TCHC Fleet Services.
Ensure vehicles have proper documentation in them in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
Assist TCHC Fleet Services with any other vehicle issues relating to the CSU.
Other Services

Provide administrative support and/or other duties as assigned.
Explore new ways to ensure efficient use of current resources.
Participate on various committees and/or working groups as assigned
What you’ll need

College diploma in administration, service delivery, police foundations, criminal justice, law, or related discipline. College diploma in courts administration preferred.
3-5 years’ experience in administration or related field.
Municipal Law Enforcement Officer License an asset.
NICHE (CSU reporting system) training, access, and familiarity an asset.

The successful candidate must pass and maintain full police clearance including a level 4 background check and fingerprinting as a condition of employment, and for the duration of their employment as a Fleet & Parking Coordinator at Toronto Community Housing.
