Job Description
Cypress Motor Inn, located in south central region of Manitoba, is a growing food manufacturing business specializing in high-quality frozen vegetable samosas introduced the brand “iCAN Samosa”. We use a combination of traditional recipes and modern food processing equipment to produce delicious and consistent products.
Opportunity:
Cypress Motor Inn is looking for skilled and energetic person who owns basic mechanical skills to understand machine parameters, run and operate the equipment efficiently and accurately.
Person with fundamental knowledge and skills are welcome to apply for the position of ‘Machine Operator’.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor food processing machines such as the potato washer, dough mixer, and samosa-making machine.
Disassemble, clean, assemble and complete set up of machine as per parameter for production requirements.
Ensure machines are running efficiently and producing high-quality products.
Record the data as required per the documents and report to supervisor.
Adjust machine settings for different production batches.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery.
Identify and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues to prevent downtime.
Report any major technical problems to the supervisor or maintenance team.
Ensure proper ingredient handling and processing according to company standards.
Monitor product consistency, weight, and shape during samosa production.
Conduct basic quality control checks to ensure food safety and compliance.
Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations.
Learn and perform safety requirements for production environment, maintain a clean and organized work area.
Use protective tools and follow workplace safety protocols.
• General Support:
Assist with packaging and storage of frozen samosas as needed.
Work closely with kitchen staff to meet daily production targets.
Keep accurate records of machine operations and production output.
Required languages: English
Education level: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent
Required skills: • 6 to 12 months of Prior experience as a machine operator in food processing is preferred (training available). • Basic mechanical skills to operate and troubleshoot food processing equipment. • Ability to work in a fast-paced food production environment. • Strong attention to detail and quality control. • Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
Additional skills / Assets: Ability to lift moderate weights (up to 25 kg) and stand for extended periods. • Team player with a proactive and problem-solving attitude.
