Job Description
Cypress Motor Inn, located in south central region of Manitoba, is a growing food manufacturing business specializing in high-quality frozen vegetable samosas introduced the brand “iCAN Samosa”. We use a combination of traditional recipes and modern food processing equipment to produce delicious and consistent products.
Opportunity:
We are looking for a kitchen helper to assist the cook in varied tasks of samosa preparation like washing, peeling, chopping and also related tasks of food preparation for dine in and takeout.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables using kitchen equipment.
Serving customers and taking payments.
Help with dough preparation, rolling, and portioning for samosa making.
Ensure accurate filling of samosas according to set recipes.
Operate and clean kitchen machinery such as the potato washer, dough mixer, and samosa-making machine.
Follow proper procedures for handling and maintaining food processing equipment.
Assist in packaging freshly prepared samosas for freezing.
Ensure proper labelling and storage of frozen samosas in cold storage units.
Maintain quality control to meet food safety and company standards.
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workstations, bar, restaurant table, floors, and food processing equipment.
Follow food safety regulations and hygiene protocols.
Dispose of waste and recyclables appropriately.
Other related tasks as needed in business.
General Support:
Assist kitchen staff in various tasks as needed.
Handle inventory of ingredients and packaging materials.
Follow workplace safety procedures and contribute to a smooth workflow.
Required languages: English
Education level: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent
Required skills: • 7 to 12 months of experience of similar or relevant work • Ability to work in a fast-paced setting and follow instructions. • Willingness to learn how to operate food processing machinery. • Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety.
Additional skills / Assets: • Ability to lift moderate weights (up to 25 kg). • Team player with a positive and proactive attitude.
