Job Description
Oak Bluff ESSO, one of the busiest 24/7 gas stations and convenience stores in Manitoba, is seeking highly skilled and experienced Retail Sales Supervisors to manage daily operations, lead a team, and ensure excellent customer service. This dynamic location also provides postal services, fueling operations, and convenience store items to a diverse clientele.
The ideal candidates will have strong leadership skills, operational expertise, proficiency in Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, and extensive knowledge of gas station equipment. Candidates must have reliable transportation (a car) to commute to the work location.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
• Oversee, supervise, and coordinate the daily operations of the gas station, convenience store, and postal outlet.
• Ensure 24/7 smooth operations by managing staff schedules, shifts, and break times, including mornings, evenings, and overnight shifts.
• Perform all duties on the POS register, including handling cash, processing sales, and covering shift deficiencies as needed.
• Prepare detailed and accurate shift reports, including reconciliations, cash balancing, sales reports, and supporting documentation.
• Ensure store cleanliness, organization, and safety standards are consistently maintained in all areas, including the forecourt, fuel pumps, and back-office areas.
Customer Service Excellence
• Resolve customer complaints and inquiries professionally, ensuring a positive and engaging experience for all patrons.
• Provide personalized service by recommending products, services, and promotions based on customer preferences.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and customer service policies to create a welcoming environment.
Inventory and Supplies Management
• Receive, inspect, restock, and rotate inventory to ensure freshness and availability.
• Conduct regular inventory counts to prevent shrinkage, waste, or overstocking.
• Assist in ordering merchandise and supplies based on sales trends and forecasted demand.
• Update product displays, shelf pricing, and promotional setups to enhance store appearance and drive sales.
Team Leadership and Training
• Train new employees on POS systems, store policies, customer service standards, and safety procedures.
• Delegate and supervise tasks to ensure operational efficiency while maintaining a productive work environment.
• Provide performance feedback to employees and assist in resolving team conflicts or operational challenges.
Gas Station Equipment and Maintenance
• Monitor and maintain gas station equipment, including fuel dispensers, air pumps, and car wash facilities, ensuring all are in good working condition.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate timely repairs with service providers.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations related to fuel handling, storage, and emergency protocols.
Sales and Revenue Optimization
• Analyze sales trends, customer preferences, and competitive data to implement strategies for increasing revenue.
• Develop and execute promotional campaigns, loyalty programs, and cross-selling initiatives to maximize profitability.
• Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets and work with staff to achieve them consistently.
Other Responsibilities
• Assist with postal outlet operations, including processing parcels, selling stamps, and managing mail services.
• Ensure the security of the store and forecourt areas, including monitoring CCTV systems and implementing loss prevention measures.
• Adapt quickly to operational demands, such as increased customer traffic or unexpected staffing shortages.

Qualifications and Requirements
• Education: Completion of secondary school education or equivalent.
• Experience: Previous supervisory experience in a gas station and convenience store environment is an asset.
• Transportation: Must have a reliable car to commute to the location.
• Language: Fluency in English (verbal and written).
• Flexibility: Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Leadership Skills: Strong ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment, ensuring smooth operations and excellent customer service.
