Job Description

Seasonal fishing industry – employer located in the Madgalen Islands in the province of Quebec
Contract of 8 months, starting around April 1st 2025, depending on the opening date and the variable length of the fishing season, subject to the environmental context, the duration of the work period may be shortened by up to 9 weeks. This period is likely to last between 6 and 8 months.

Overtime paid (1,5x) if employee work before 7am, after 4pm or if more than 40 hours a week / Night shift bonus of 0,50$/hr

Minimum of 30 hours per week
Variable schedules (night, day, weekends)

Tasks include (but not limited to):

Hygiene control (preoperative activities)
Ensure product cleanliness (before batch acceptance) and notify foreman as soon as impurities are detected.
Check impurities (total per pound).
Ensure product is well cooked (cooking according to customer requirements).
Adjust binder to reduce mottons.
Take product temperature in all classes.
Compile internal shrimp temperatures.
Check and approve all labels before the start of operations and at the end of operations and affix them to a sheet (check the number of each class for each product range) initialize and add the time next to each label after checking.
Ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices (hand washing, foot baths).
Ensure compliance with dressing procedures (low-risk and high-risk).
Ensure compliance with color coding of work instruments (Low-risk and High-risk).
Ensure that all drain cutlery is in its proper place.
Remind production foreman to prepare dishes (power Quat and water) in their respective places.

Required languages: English, Spanish or French

Education level: None required

Required skills: Experience in the industry an asset
