Laundry Supervisor
Ecotex Kelowna is seeking highly motivated, productive, and reliable Laundry Supervisors for full-time employment opportunities in a modern, efficiently run production facility located at 9750 McCarthy Road Kelowna, BC.

The Supervisor is responsible for managing the day to day production throughout the plant to ensure that daily objectives and orders are completed on time, correctly, and to the right customer. Each department will require specific attention daily. Listed below are specific daily tasks the Supervisor will be responsible for.
• Ensure a safe work place at all times and make timely recommendations to management and maintenance staff to improve controls when necessary.
• Ability to be decisive and proactive when faced with plant or staffing challenges & difficulties.
• Manage the daily production requirements.
• Give direction and manage team members to increase productivity by maximizing efficiency.
• Call-in staff to fill vacancies when required.
• Have a thorough understanding of the Collective Agreement
• Have a strong working relationship with our customers, management, all lead hands, maintenance staff, contract drivers, and front-end staff.
• Have a thorough understanding of the scale, ELM and its operations / procedures.
• Have a thorough understanding of duties and responsibilities in the Surgical department
• Have a good understanding of when to give direction to the Tunnel Operator to maximize production and ensure you’re getting the necessary linen.
• Have a good working knowledge of the Dryers. Must be able to pause loads, empty dryers manually, clear alarms. Know how to identify specific linen being dried, and what linens are hanging from the roof.
• Inspect all MDR orders to ensure maximum pack-out before shipment
• Maintain daily “fill rates” on customer orders
• Oversee the sweeping & sanitizing of the truck trailers / boxes.
• Assist with managing stock levels daily and respond quickly when linens need to be added to balance inventory.
• Responsible for filling out the daily production summary (staffing) in the absence of the Operations Manager
• Have a thorough understating of Ecotex General policies / procedures & specific Re-Sort, Stain, and Discard processes.
• Manage and ensure the success of new equipment and or automation that we may receive from time to time.
• Develop strong relationships with our customers.
• Follow direction from your Operations Manager and liaise often with one another.
• In absence of the Operations Manager, you will answer directly to the Production Manager.
• May fill job duties of workers supervised, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications, Skills, & Experience:
• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in the industry
• Secondary (High) School Graduation Certificate or equivalent training and experience
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, walking, crouching, lifting, and pushing
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds
• Must be punctual, responsible, accountable, and dedicated to the team, plant out-put and its outcome.
• Will work 40 hours / week with OT when required. Scheduled workday will be at the discretion of the Operations Manager.
Terms of Employment:
• Full-time position
• Wage range: $21.63 to $22 per hour
• Working conditions include some exposure to heat and noise.
• Our operations run seven (7) days per week – weekends as well as overtime as required
• 40 Hour work week – 5:30am-4:00pm (4x 10hr shifts) or 6:00am -4:30pm (4x 10hr shifts)
