Job Description
Located in Vancouver/BC, Fiorino, Italian Street Food is currently looking for 3 talented Senior Chef de partie/Jr sous-chef to join our team.
We have 2 schedules: the 1st being primarily mornings with a heavy focus on prep and daily lunch service.
The 2nd is night shifts with a heavy focus of service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards;
• Prepare and cook complete meals or specialty foods, such as pastries, sauces, soups, salads, vegetables and meat, poultry and fish dishes
• Undertake the cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to the cooking staff
• Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
• Create new recipes
• Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
Required Education & Experience;
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a similar role;
• Minimum 5 years experience cooking
• Completion of a high school diploma is mandatory;
• Food Handler Certification (preferred)
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills;
• Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively
• Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques
• Hospitality industry knowledge
• Self-disciplined, eager to learn, and have a passion for the food and service industry
A passion for food and working with high-quality, fresh ingredients.
Pay Rate/ Salary: $20-25 per hour
40 hours per week
