Karat Chocolate and Pastry Boutique is looking for two Full-Time Pastry Cooks (NOC 63200-3)! This is a full-time, permanent position with 40 hours per week, $18.50 to $24.00/hour to start, with benefits.
Job Description:
• Prepare and make specialty foods such as pastries, cakes, chocolates
• Prepare, clean and organize ingredients for use in the kitchen
• Help train kitchen staff in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies
• Ensure the kitchen is clean and sanitized at all times
• Maintain up to date knowledge about pastry arts and ingredients
• Carry out administrative duties to maintain an efficient workspace
• Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness
Job Requirements:
• Minimum 1-2 years of pastry experience in fine dining, production, or hotel
• Previous pastry/confectionary training is an asset
• Great attention to detail
• Must have excellent cake decorating skills
• Language in the workplace is English
