Job Summary:
In the position of Superintendent, Foundations and Piling, you will be responsible for leading the execution of innovative piling projects, from planning through completion. You’ll manage project schedules, budgets, crews, and ensure adherence to quality standards, leveraging advanced piling technologies and methods. Your role emphasizes hands-on project management, team leadership, and direct involvement in the operational aspects of innovative piling work, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
– Direct, oversee and manage daily operations of CFA (Continuous Flight Auger), piling projects, ensuring smooth execution from groundwork to completion, while strictly adhering to timelines, specifications, and budgets.
– Lead cost-control activities, actively involving in the selection of cost-effective, innovative piling solutions and materials to enhance overall project value.
– Actively manage project timelines and milestones with a hands-on approach, closely monitoring daily progress and adjusting strategies as necessary to meet project goals.
– Implement and personally supervise quality control measures on-site, ensuring that all work meets the high standards specific to CFA piling techniques, engineering specifications and technologies.
– Communicate regularly with stakeholders through detailed progress reports and meetings, maintaining transparency and adjusting project plans in real time based on feedback.
– Lead project crews and subcontractors, establishing clear expectations for safety, quality, and productivity, and conducting regular performance evaluations.
– Champion the adoption of advanced piling methods and technologies within the team, leading by example in the application of innovative practices for ground improvement.
– Organize and conduct on-site training sessions for crews in CFA piling and related techniques, ensuring all team members are up-to-date with industry best practices and safety protocols.
– Oversee the planning and execution of comprehensive load testing for CFA piles, actively participating in the testing process to verify design assumptions and optimize pile performance.

Wage/Salary: $185,000/annum
Benefits: Comprehensive Group Health and Dental Benefits (to start immediately); Company Vehicle and Company Gas Card; Eligible to receive Performance Bonus (determined by senior management on overall division/company performance); 4 weeks of paid vacation per year; Relocation allowance of up to $30,000 to relocate to Edmonton, Alberta
Hours Per Week: 44 hours per week
Terms of Employment: Full-Time, Permanent
Location of Work: Based out of and reporting to 2412 Ellwood Dr SW, Edmonton, AB, T6X 0A9, and to be dispatched to project sites in and around the greater Edmonton area.

Skills Requirements
Education: Secondary School Diploma
Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of directly related experience in a supervisory role in deep foundation drilling and piling work.
Skills/Licensing:
Demonstrable and verifiable work experience in CFA Piling
Technical competency in the following piling methods: CFA Piles (Continuous Flight Auger), FDP (Full Displacement Piles), CSP (Cased Secant Piling/Dual Rotary Cased CFA), SDP (Steel Displacement Piles) and Drilled Caissons
Must have a valid driver’s license and must be able to independently drive a company vehicle without restriction
