Shamrock Bar & Grill is currently seeking to hire experienced Cooks to join its team for steady, full-time employment. Our busy season is approaching and business will be busier than ever for our beautiful location in English Bay.

Please note that this position requires weekend morning shift availability from 8am. Please apply if you are willing and able to commit to weekly weekend morning shifts in addition to regular weekday and evening shifts.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Preparing and cooking complete Irish meals and individual dishes, including homemade soda breads, Irish stews, Irish curries, black and white puddings, Sunday roasts, full Irish breakfasts, as well as other traditional main courses.
Determining size of food portions, estimating food requirements and costs, as well as monitoring and ordering supplies;
Maintaining accurate inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment;
Inspecting kitchen and food service areas to ensure that all health, food safety and COVID-19 protocols are being met and exceeded;
Training kitchen helpers and other kitchen staff in preparation, cooking methods and safe handling of food;
Supervising kitchen staff and helpers;
Ensuring cleanliness of all kitchen and food-related facilities;

Requirements:
Work Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a cook, line cook, or chef is required
Education: No Minimum Education Requirements
Skills: Must be able to prepare authentic Irish cuisine in a busy commercial setting, train and supervise kitchen staff, and work as part of a team.
Certificates: Must possess a valid Food Safe Level 1 Certificate
Language of Work: English

Terms of Employment: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours Per Week: 40 Hours per Week
Salary: $21.00/hour
Benefits: Extended Health Benefits after 90 days; Eligible to receive share of gratuities received
