Job Description
Pitka Mountain Outfitters is a small family run outfitting business. We are looking for 2 Outdoor Guides who can efficiently assist in the daily operations of our camp. We have high standards for professionalism, obeying the law, hunting ethics and safety. Applicants must be loyal, honest, and professional.
Dates: Start date September 10 -October 25, 2024
Responsibilities/Tasks
Escort groups on outdoor sport and recreational trips
Assemble camping gear and supplies.
Operate and maintain firearms
Advise on specific regulations such as hunting and fishing laws and boating regulations, follow environmental guidelines and prevent violations
Operate and maintain watercraft
Operate off-road vehicles
Plan trips
Operate photographic and video equipment
Prepare meals
Operate communication (including emergency) devices
Set up and take down camps
Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
Maintain equipment
Provide outdoor, wilderness and wildlife instruction
Handle and care for livestock
Orienteering and/or survival
Prevent legislation violations
Set up emergency shelters
Address customers’ complaints or concerns
Assist clients/guests with special needs
