Job Description

Join our dynamic team at the təməsew̓txʷ Aquatic and Community Centre, a state of the art facility designed for flexibility, accessibility, and sustainability.

Responsibilities:
• Perform pool maintenance tasks such as performing pool chemistry tests, backwashing filters, vacuuming and diagnosing filtration systems for optimal pool operation.
• Maintain cleanliness in change rooms, fitness areas, offices, and natatorium spaces through diligent janitorial tasks.
• Enhance building security and engage with the public courteously to elevate customer experiences.

Required languages: English

Education level: • High school diploma or equivalent; • Ideal candidates will have Pool Operator 1 and 2 certifications. • Building Service Worker certificate preferred. • Possess a working knowledge of pool water filtration, heating and disinfection systems. • Clear Police Information Check required.

Required skills: • Courteous and effective communication with the public, groups, and facility users. • Demonstrate the ability to observe equipment, report malfunctions, and follow instructions. • Effective oral and written communication skills. • Proficient in janitorial methods, materials, tools, and equipment. • Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office knowledge is an asset. • Motivated to learn the newest methods of pool operations, with a holistic approach to building management • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working with minimal supervision.

Additional skills / Assets: • The successful candidates must be able to work overnight shifts between 8:00 PM and 8:00 AM, based on operational needs.
