Nori Japanese Restaurant is looking for a cook!

Job Title: Cook
Location: #203-6750 Island Hwy., Nanaimo, BC V9V 1S3
Number of Vacancies: 2
Work Hours: 40 hours per week
Wage: $20.00 per hour
Vacation: 4% of gross salary

Job responsibilities:
– Prepare and cook a wide range of Japanese dishes
– Create seasonal, cost-effective menu and specials of the day
– Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
– Plan menu, determine size of food portions and estimate food cost and requirements
– Ensure operation level of profitability and client satisfaction
– Clean and sanitize kitchen and work area
– Perform related work as required

Qualifications and skills required:
– Minimum 2 years of commercial cooking experience OR Completion of a 3-year apprenticeship program for cooks OR Completion of college or other program in cooking
– Japanese cooking experience is to be preferred
– Completion of Secondary School
– English is required
