Job Description

Valbella Gourmet Foods, located in the mountain town of Canmore, AB, is currently seeking a permanent, full-time Delicatessen Supervisor.

The main duties as a Delicatessen Supervisor will include, but not be limited to:
Supervising and coordinating deli staff
Allocating duties and tasks to each deli worker when required
Preparing upcoming work schedules and the training of new deli staff when needed
Mentoring, assigning, and reviewing performance of the deli team and exhibit best practices, supporting methods, and operate optimal efficiency, safety procedures and company policies
Reconciling end-of-day sales at the end of each shift
Dealing with any customer complaints or concerns
Authorizing discounts, refunds and any other special requests
Maintaining a record of all goods and merchandise, and ordering additional stock when needed
Assisting customers at the deli and café counters
Greeting and answering any questions that customers may have, either in person or over the phone
Maintaining store appearance by stocking, organizing shelves and ensuring cleanliness is kept to a high standard
Taking the necessary safety and security precautions when opening and closing the store

Education level: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Required skills: Work Experience: At least one year of experience working in a customer service supervisory position, with the capability to train, oversee and coach a team with a strong ability for decision-making skills in a high paced environment; Experience using the Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) system, including the ability to apply refunds, discounts, create new product tabs, update any products in regard to changes in price, stock, brand and resolve any disputes when reconciling the EPOS system at the end of the day

Additional skills / Assets: Possessing an understanding of the German language would be an asset; Having knowledge of the Swiss culture, especially their traditional meat products, would be an asset
