SALARY: $39.29 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits and vacation
Class Times:
• Tuesday 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
• Fridays 10:00 – 12:00 & 12:30 – 2:30

The City of New Westminster is seeking an enthusiastic, friendly and outgoing individual to teach beginners, intermediate, and advanced watercolour painting to older adults – 50+.

We are looking for a vibrant and experienced Watercolour Painting Instructor to join our faculty and lead workshops and programs with a focus on adults and seniors. This position requires a strong background in both art and education, with specific experience in watercolour painting techniques, materials and practices. Some specific duties will include developing curriculum in line with the ongoing programming and upholding the high quality and professionalism in the City of New Westminster. Requirements include:

• Completion of a post-secondary degree, diploma or equivalent in visual arts and/or education.
• Minimum 3 years of previous teaching experience.
• Considerable knowledge of the principles, practices and objectives of contemporary art education in community recreation facilities.
• Sound knowledge of non-formal teaching methods and group leadership techniques.
• Excellent supervisory and organizational skills.
• Must be able to successfully pass and maintain a clear police information check.

*Please note that the hours of work are dependent on program registration and the successful
candidate will have the ability to work weekdays, evenings and/or weekends.
