Director, Change Management
(Remote)

Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategy & Change, the Director of Change Management is responsible for leveraging change disciplines to continuously improve Scout Canada’s ability to design, pilot, assess, iterate, and embed our outputs/products broadly across Scouts Canada’s membership base.
This role will be remote from your home office, and the candidate can be located anywhere in Canada. (Occasional travel is required)

Responsibilities:
• Change Management: Embed change principles and approaches to drive continuous improvement in scoping, co-designing, testing and scaling outputs/initiatives in the context of a membership organization.
• User Centered Design: Continuously improve the effectiveness of Scouts Canda’s ability to design, pilot and implement new outputs/products/programs alongside the organization’s membership. (staff & volunteers/National & local)
• Communications: Craft effective communication strategies to convey the rationale, benefits, and progress of change initiatives to members and staff.
• Leadership: Increase change management capacity and discipline amongst department leads, volunteer teams and the Executive Leadership Team.

Competencies Required:
• Change Management: An understanding of change management methodologies, tools, and best practices including the ability to measure the impact of change. Experience in contributing to organizational change initiatives that impact a broad audience.

• Communications: The ability to craft communication and outreach strategies that create a clear vision for change, the rationale and drive adoption. This will require strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills and the capability to articulate complex ideas into accessible terms.

• Capacity Building: Competence to increase change management capacity and discipline through department heads and volunteer teams. This will require the ability to achieve success via training, consulting, advising and co-designing with others.

• Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to work effectively with various departments and stakeholders within the organization, fostering a culture of cooperation and shared goals.This will also require the ability to equip a team of change agents (staff, youth & volunteers) with tools and approaches to drive incremental change- nationally and locally.

Work Experience Required:
• 5+ years’ experience in supporting change management, stakeholder relations, and/or communications.
Working Conditions:
• The role will be remote from a home office environment. However, physical travel and attendance at meetings, and events (both internal and external) will be required – likely 4 times a year.
• Regular office hours, some evening and weekend work is required.
• PRC (Police Record Check) and VSS (Vulnerable Sector Check) are required before the start date.
• Mandatory training requirement.
