Job Description
Project & Member Engagement Advisor
2 Roles, Remote
Want to change the world? At Scouts Canada our Vision is “Canadian youth making a meaningful contribution to creating a better world.” We need passionate people who share our Mission to develop well-rounded youth better prepared for success in the world. Are you someone who is energized by challenging assignments? The assignment: develop our volunteer community, champion safe and dynamic youth-led program quality and enable Scouts to grow its membership in Canada.
Reporting to the Director, Scouting Experience, you will be part of a team that will evaluate, design and implement core Scouting organizational changes in alignment with Scouts Canada’s strategic plan.
Team members will excel at stakeholder relations and at leading a dynamic team to ensure business goals are achieved. The role requires knowledge and experience in change management implementation. At Scouts we “do not follow where the path may lead. We go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” As Pillar 1 objectives are delineated, team members will be asked to lead and/or contribute to bespoke projects designed to achieve these objectives. If you are an innovator and passionate about Scouting and ensuring youth from across the country can benefit from an outstanding outdoor program, this is the role for you.
This role will be remote from your home office, and the candidate can be located anywhere in Canada.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director, Scouting Experience and in collaboration with all departments, staff, volunteers and customers (youth and parents) the team members will ensure the success of implementing a new strategic plan for Scouts Canada’s Core Scouting program, including the below duties and responsibilities.

Pillar 1 objectives will build off provisional research conducted as part of a Colony longitudinal study that identified key attributes for program quality and section success and as well as many years of parent and volunteer satisfaction surveys that highlight key areas of concern.
The team will be established to frame the opportunity in partnership with 3rd party change leadership consultants, a volunteer team focused on volunteer lifecycle review and stakeholders. The framing will lead to a comprehensive change and project plan that will be the focus of the team for the next two years. At which point it is expected the project team will replace the existing base ‘core Scouting’ model and transform the way we operate in Scouts Canada. It is expected that cultural appreciation and change leadership will be critical to ensure successful design, and implementation.
