Job Description
The Department of Biology at the University of Saskatchewan is actively seeking a scholar for a three-year term appointment at the rank of Lecturer. Applicants are expected to have completed a PhD and to have experience teaching Biology at the post-secondary level. The appointment will consist of teaching and collegial service duties. However, there is an opportunity to develop research collaborations with existing faculty in the Department, particularly in conjunction with supervision of undergraduate research projects in our third- and fourth-year research-based courses.
The Department of Biology is a diverse department with research and teaching strengths in cell and molecular biology, ecology and evolution, organismal biology, and environmental sciences. A strong undergraduate program offering degrees in Biology and Environmental Biology and a certificate in Biological Research is paired with an active graduate program. The Department offers courses to students with a wide range of backgrounds and interests as part of the College of Arts and Science. The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Biology or a related discipline and will be able to teach one or more of the department’s large-enrolment 100- and 200-level classes. It is expected that the successful individual will also teach one or more classes at the senior (300 and 400) level in their area(s) of expertise.
