What your key role will be
As the PRIME Assistant, you will contribute to our continued success by monitoring and maintaining records in the Police Records Information Management System (PRIME) as well as performing audits to ensure we are complying with PRIME policies and procedures. In addition to this, your role includes, but is not limited to:
Records Management: You’ll monitor and maintain records and files as well as correct, modify, delete, and add information to records.
Adaptability: You’ll have the ability to adapt and transition your work style between working independently as well as collaboratively to get the job done.
Attention to Detail: You’ll be happiest when working with the highest level of details that support the bigger picture while taking great pride in rolling up your sleeves to get even the smallest of tasks done.
Communication: You’ll have excellent communication and active listening skills as well as the ability to convey information clearly and simply while ensuring you understand directions and information.
Decision Making: You’ll have strong decision making skills which will allow you to make quick and confident assessments of our policies and procedures and bring forward suggestions to improve our processes.
Time Management: You’ll manage your time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently with minimal supervision.
What you bring to this role
You will have experience and success in many of the following areas:
You have completed Grade 12
You are confident working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
You have top-notch records management and monitoring skills
You have strong administrative and organizational skills
You are confident working with (or learning) Police Records Information Management Environment (PRIME) and police crime investigation policies and procedures
You are motivated, compassionate, and empathetic with a genuine desire to help others
You support and promote a diverse, inclusive, and healthy workplace
You are confident in (or have the desire to learn) the development and delivery of training material
You can thrive in a fast-paced environment and navigate your priorities independently
You enjoy problem solving and applying appropriate judgment

You pass and maintain a security clearance, including a background check and polygraph

Hours of Work: This position is based on operational needs, up to 35 hours a week. The successful applicant will be able to commit to weekday shifts. Shifts are scheduled on weekdays between the hours of 6:45am and 4pm, but there is flexibility with the days of the week and shift start times.
