Union Street Cafe is a full-service restaurant and live music venue located in Berwick, Nova Scotia. The Café is looking for a Baker to join the team. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality food, ensuring consistency in the daily preparation of recipes that meet Company standards.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Working with specialized baking equipment, prepare and bake menu items per Company standards, including for guests with food allergies or intolerances.
• Using safe food handling techniques to prepare required quantities of items including. Bake mixed doughs and batters prepare bread, rolls, muffins, pies, pastries, cakes and cookies products as required, as per Company recipes and standards.
• Frost and decorate cakes or other baked goods.
• Maintain inventory of food and stock items and report shortages to Manager in a timely manner.
• Set up and stock workstation with the required supplies for the shift.
• Follow Company procedures and policies, including safety and sanitation policies, pertaining to receiving, storage, sanitation, production, preparation, and presentation of food, leftover food & beverages.
• Follow Company procedures and policies to clean and maintain all work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Consistently offer professional, friendly, and proactive guest service while supporting fellow team members.
• Ensure full knowledge of all menu items.
• Ensure accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks with a strong attention to detail.

Summary of Qualifications:
• Completion of secondary school or equivalent
• Safe food handling certificates an asset
• Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
• Ability to work daytime, evenings, and weekends as required
