Job Description

Global Gourmet Foods is a division of Premium Brands Holdings Corporation (TSX: PBH) which owns a broad range of leading specialty food manufacturing and differentiated food distribution businesses with operations. Global Gourmet Foods is a federally registered food manufacturer who supplies premium kettle products to key accounts in both domestic and export markets. We are seeking dynamic individuals that can work with the Quality Assurance department, ensuring that the facility is in compliance with regulatory and food safety standards.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
• Responsible for monitoring, verification and validation of HACCP and prerequisite programs in CFIA Food Safety Enhancement Program Manual based SQF Level 3 food safety and quality program
• Responsible for risk assessment and determine corrective action of on-going processing activities independently to ensure the food safety and quality specifications are under control in hot-filled meat and seafood processing as well as post-handled RTE processing
• Responsible for evaluating the food safety and quality specifications of food ingredient and communicate corrective action of food ingredients used in hot-filled and post-handled multi-foods processing
• Communicate with other departmental supervisors in a cooperative manner to meet food safety and quality compliance
• Conduct employee training on GMP, HACCP or as required
• Participate in internal auditing and investigation process for corrective and preventative actions
• Perform sensory, chemical and microbiological testing of multi-foods products when required
• Perform risk-based ATP, Allergen and microbiological sampling and testing for environmental monitoring program
• Perform on-site GMP monitoring and process monitoring in hot filled and RTE processing
• 50% of time on the floor and 50% of time on supporting data trending and HACCP projects

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Food Science or Health Science (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, etc.) degree or diploma
• Minimum of 2 years in Quality Assurance/ Quality Control monitoring activities in Federally registered meat and seafood RTE facilities with hot filled processing and post-handled meat processing background
• Minimum of 2 years in Quality Assurance/ Quality Control documentation and record keeping in GFSI Food Safety certified and SQF food quality certified food manufacturing facilities
• Sufficient working knowledge of corrective and preventative actions, Critical Control Points and validations of CFIA Food Safety Enhancement Program Manual in meat and seafood processing, SQF Level 3 food safety and quality program
• Minimum of 1 year experience for performing Food Pathogen Test using DNA/RNA amplification methodology
• Minimum of 1 year experience in molluscs raw material inspection using X-ray
• Minimum of 1 year experience in protein analysis using ELISA Assay Method
• Minimum of 1 year experience in sugar and sodium concentration test in composite foods using Refractometry Method.
• Minimum of 1 year experience of chemical testing, data trending and performance analysis in the CIP system.
• Professional written skill and oral communication in English, and ability to other language like Chinese is an asset
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively with all employees and contractors and to provide technical help when needed
• Must be detail oriented
• With valid driver license
• Ability to work in afternoon shift until 11pm
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
