Job Description

Located in Vancouver/ BC, FITNIR Analyzers Inc. is currently looking for a Manufacturing Technician to join our team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and conduct production, inventory, and quality assurance programs.
• Design plant layouts and production facilities
• Develop computer applications for machines and processes.
• Collect and compile operational or experimental data.
• Collect and analyze data and samples.
• Develop manufacturing and processing procedures.
• Assist in preparing estimates, schedules, specifications, and reports.
• Set machine or equipment controls, oversee production, and inspect processes.
• Coordinate the fabrication of all FITNIR analyzers and sensors in-house.
• Track and manage the production of the analyzer and coordinate with peers to complete fabrication.
• Collaboration with peers to develop new hardware required for process measurements.
• Collaborate and develop relationships with SA markets, particularly, Brazil and Chile
• Install, monitor, and validate the performance of FITNIR’s sensor/analyzer technologies.
• Quantifying the benefits of new and updated products.
• Identifying and responding to the needs of clients to help set the direction of work in this field and communicate results effectively with all levels of operation.

Required Education & Experience.
• Minimum 2-3 years of related work experience in the pulp and paper industry required.
• Completion of a 2-year program in a related discipline is required.
• A bachelor’s degree in electrical or chemical engineering is preferred.
• Strong background in sensor technologies including NIR-based technologies (spectroscopy), chemometrics, CAD programming, electronics, PLCs, DCS, and other relevant skills.
• Strong communication skills including high-quality technical presentations and reports.
• Project management experience including budgets, internal and external resources, and timely delivery preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of Portuguese as a second language is preferred.
• Strong communication skills including high-quality technical presentations and reports.
• Strong capabilities in planning, organizing, and process control.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment, sometimes in a supervisory and training role.

Pay Rate/ Salary: CAD$75,000.
40 hours per week
