Job Description

Located in the Lower Mainland, Wow Food is currently looking for a talented dairy worker/cheese maker to join our team.
Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Dairy Worker/Cheese Maker at Wow Food, your responsibilities will include:
• Following safety procedures to protect against exposure to allergens or bacteria that may be present in raw milk or cheese cultures
• Monitoring cheese vat temperatures to ensure they remain within optimal ranges for specific cheese types.
• Tracking pH levels in cheese vats to guarantee the production of premium-quality cheese.
• Maintaining appropriate humidity levels in cheese vats to prevent deviations from ideal conditions.
• Following established procedures to ensure that the quality of cheese produced is consistent with company standards
• Conducting analytical methods and other topics to Ensure the quality and safety of Brazilian Traditional cheeses.
• Conducting tests on cheese samples to assess factors such as moisture content, acidity, saltiness, bitterness, and other taste-affecting attributes.
• Overseeing the cheese-making process to ensure efficient and smooth progress.
• Properly storing cheese in a controlled environment until it’s time for packaging and shipment.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the head cheese maker.

Required Education & Experience;
• Minimum 6 months to 1 year of proven relevant work experience
• Necessary knowledge on drivers of technological changes in cheese manufacture
• Necessary knowledge on breakthroughs, innovation, and development of new products in cheese manufacture
• Experience with lightweight cheese production or Brazilian queijo de Coalho, Minas Padrão, Prato, Requeijão e Reino Cheese production technique is preferred.
• Completion of a high school diploma or related cheese-making course at Candido Tostes Dairy Institute in Brazil is desired.

Pay Rate/ Salary: $19.25 per hour
