Position: Radio Room Operator
Location: Blue River, BC
Type: Seasonal, Full-Time (Winter 2023-2024)
Reports to: Director of Ski Operations or Designate
Overview:
The MWHS Guides Haus is unique in the heliskiing industry. The Radio Room Operator is the vital link between the Blue River base and the helicopters & guides flying and skiing in the mountains. This position is responsible for the communication during the ski day between the base and the backcountry, recording of current skiing locations, updating the resort staff with guest reports and record keeping of the daily skiing operation.

Responsibilities:
• Handling all radio transmissions.
• Transmitting, receiving, relaying, and documenting communications between various individuals and groups.
• Operating computer equipment and applications to track and monitor helicopters and ski guides with groups.
• Maintain and record a daily log of flying & skiing activity.
• Monitoring, implementing, or assisting with the implementation of emergency response procedures in emergency situations as required.
• Working independently at times and directly with any number of other team members as required.
• Multitasking, prioritizing, organizing, and completing workload while remaining flexible to changing conditions.
• Taking on other projects and tasks as needed.
