Position: Long haul truck driver (NOC 73300)

Location: 7560 Murray Street, Mission, BC, V2V 4B1 Canada
Salary: $27.00 to $29.00 per hour (to be negotiated)
Terms of Employment: Permanent Full-time job for 50 to 70 hours per week
Shifts: Day, Early Morning, Evening, Flexible Hours, Morning, Night, Overtime, Weekend
Start Date: Starts as soon as possible

Job Duties
o Operate and drive primarily tractor-trailors, long-combination vehicles and straight-body trucks weighing over 4500 kg to transport goods and materials over long distances.
o Load and unload goods
o Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
o Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
o Pay and receive payments for goods.
o Perform pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle.
o Perform preventive maintenance
o Receive and relay information to central dispatch
o Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
o Arrange travel, and related itineraries and make reservations
o Address customers’ complaints or concerns

Credentials
Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)

Experience and specialization

Documentation knowledge
Accident or incident reports, Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Maintenance and repair reports, Trans-border documentation, Trip reports

Communication systems experience
Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
