Job Description

Sushi 101 is a restaurant which simulates the feeling of dining in an authentic Japanese Restaurant.
We have a beautiful Sakura Tree in the dining place, where you can relax and savour your delicious food while enjoying the wonders of the tree. Our head chef has been in the Sushi business for over 15 years, throughout which he has acquired tremendous skill, experience, and mastery of the art that is Sushi preparation. Dining at Sushi 101 is truly a once-in-a-lifetime culinary experience. Now we are hiring sushi cooks to join our team.

Job Responsibilities:

– Prepare all types of sushi, especially maki (sushi rolls)
– Select fresh fruits and vegetables to make high-quality dishes (like avocado, mango and carrots)
– Add additional flavours to sushi rolls with ginger, rice vinegar, wasabi and soy sauce, when appropriate
– Manage food prep activities, like boiling rice
– Coordinate with wait staff to ensure proper cooking, considering special requests and food allergies
– Oversee kitchen operations
– Monitor food stock and place orders, as needed
– Maintain hygiene principles in all cooking areas and clean your space at the end of the shift

Requirements and skills:

1-2 years restaurant experience preferred
Good knowledge of various sushi types and sushi-rolling techniques
Ability to work both fast and accurately team spirit
Availability to work during business hours, including weekends and evenings
Flexibility to take on various shifts
Education level: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Job Type: Permanent employment

Wage ($/hr): 15/hr

Work Hours: 30/week
