Position: Painter
Term: Permanent

Compensation: $26.10/ hour
Work hours: Minimum 35 to 40 hours per week

Job responsibilities
Prepare and clean surfaces using methods such as scraping, sanding, sandblasting, hydroblasting,
and steam-cleaning, remove old, loose paint, and repair cracks.
• Follow all guidelines for the safe handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals and
waste.
• Applies coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior
or exterior surfaces trimmings, and fixtures of buildings and other structures.
• Erect scaffolding and swing stages and attach rigging
• Apply paint, wallpaper and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces
• Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g., plaster)
• Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture
• Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools
• Read drawings where required to identify different categories of surface classes.
• Follow all guidelines for the safe handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals and
waste. Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions
• Reading blueprints/instructions and examining surfaces to determine the kind and amount
of work necessary
• Making on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.
• Preparing walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing
old paint etc.

Employment Requirements
• Must have good proficiency in English language, both written and verbal.
• Completion on secondary school is usually required
• 7 months to less than 1 year of experience is required
• Experience in roller painting, conventional spray painting, brush painting & using patterned rollers is preferred
• Team player and highly adaptive to work in culturally diverse environment
