Job Description

HR Generalist – Key Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain HR policies, programs, and procedures.
Provide day-to-day HR support and guidance to managers and employees.
Coordinate recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and employee documentation.
Prepare and maintain job descriptions and support compensation administration.
Support employee relations, attendance, performance management, and disciplinary processes.
Coordinate employee training and development programs and maintain training records.
Administer employee benefits and respond to employee inquiries.
Support workplace health and safety programs, including injury management and return-to-work processes.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
Ensure HR practices comply with applicable employment, health and safety, human rights, and other workplace legislation.
Respond to employee questions, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional manner.

Payroll Administration:
Coordinate and administer biweekly payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payroll.
Review and verify employee time records, attendance, overtime, vacation, leaves, and other payroll-related information.
Process new hires, terminations, wage changes, deductions, and other employee status changes in the payroll system.
Maintain accurate payroll and employee records and ensure required documentation is completed.
Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner.
Prepare payroll-related reports and assist with year-end payroll requirements, including T4s and other required documentation.
Liaise with payroll providers and internal management to resolve payroll issues and ensure payroll information is accurate.
Assist with statutory payroll requirements, including CPP, EI, EHT, and other applicable deductions and remittances.

Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
3–5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Experience with full-cycle recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and HR administration.
Hands-on experience with biweekly payroll processing and payroll administration.
Experience with ADP Workforce Now and timekeeping systems such as Time Guardian is an asset.
Working knowledge of Ontario employment standards, occupational health and safety, human rights, and other applicable workplace legislation.
Experience administering employee benefits and supporting workplace injury and return-to-work processes.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
CHRP/CHRL designation or working toward designation is an asset.
Experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of WSIB processes are considered assets.

Required languages: English

Education level: Post Secondary Education in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
