Job Description

The home support worker will provide personal care and assistance to an adult requiring ongoing support in a private residence. Duties will include:
• providing personal and bedside care;
• assisting with bathing, dressing and other aspects of personal hygiene;
• assisting with mobility, transfers and regular exercise, as appropriate;
• preparing and serving nutritious meals and assisting with feeding, where required;
• assisting with medications in accordance with instructions;
• providing companionship and supervision;
• performing light housekeeping and cleaning duties related to the care recipient;
• laundering clothing and household linens;
• assisting with grocery shopping and other necessary errands;
• accompanying or assisting the care recipient with appointments and activities, as required; and
• maintaining a safe and comfortable environment in the home.

Terms of Employment: 30 hours/week, permanent, full time, mornings, day, evenings, with overtime if needed.

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience providing home support, personal care or similar caregiving services.
