Job Description
The Production Team Lead is a working lead responsible for coordinating and supporting the daily execution of production activities within the Butter Department. Operating under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Team Lead provides on-the-floor guidance, ensures adherence to safety and food quality standards, and supports efficient workflow execution. This role acts as a key connection between operators and leadership, supporting communication, issue resolution, and team engagement throughout the shift This position requires rotating shift-work, including weekends and holiday rotations in a 24/7 operation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Shift Coordination & Task Leadership
o Key Outcome: Production runs are executed safely, efficiently, and on schedule with minimal downtime and clear communication across shifts and support teams.
• Team Guidance & Training
o Key Outcome: Frontline operators receive clear direction, ongoing coaching and consistent reinforcement of safe and effective work habits, resulting in a confident and capable team.
• Food Safety & Quality Compliance
o Key Outcome: All production activities meet CFIA, HACCP and GMP requirements, ensuring safe, high- quality, fully traceable products with zero compromise to compliance.
• Health & Safety
o Key Outcome: A safe, hazard-aware production environment where PPE rules, safe work practices, and risk reporting are upheld consistently by all team members.
• Operational Efficiency
o Key Outcome: Production lines operate at optimal throughput, yield, and minimal waste through monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement suggestions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
• High school diploma required; post-secondary in food processing or manufacturing would be an asset.
• 2-3 years in food or beverage manufacturing, preferably dairy. Previous lead hand or acting lead experience would be an asset
• Comfortable operating industrial processing and packaging equipment. Strong understanding of food hygiene and sanitation practices.
• Working knowledge of Quality Systems and adherence to Compliance (eg. HACCP, GMP, FSSC)
