Job Description

A caring family with three daughters (ages 9, 7, and 20 months old) is seeking a reliable Child Caregiver to work in our private home. The primary responsibility will be caring for our youngest child (20 months old), while also assisting with the care and supervision of the two older children as needed.

Job Details:
Position: Child Caregiver
Location: Burnaby, BC
Wage: $20.00 per hour
Hours: 30 hours per week
Main Duties:
-Supervise and care for children in the private residence
-Primarily care for the 20-month-old child, including bathing, dressing, feeding, diaper changing, and meal/snack preparation
-Assist with supervision of two school-aged children before/after school and during family routines
-Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals and snacks for the children
-Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy home environment for the children
-Oversee children’s daily routines, including meals, naps, and rest periods
-Support children’s emotional well-being and social development
-Teach personal hygiene and good habits
-Organize age-appropriate activities such as games, crafts, reading, and outdoor play
-Take children to and from school, activities, or appointments if required
-Follow parents’ guidance regarding discipline and child routines
-Keep records of daily activities or health information when needed

Requirements:
-Completion of high school
-Completion of caregiver training is an asset
-Previous child caregiver or nanny experience is an asset
-Patient, responsible, trustworthy, and nurturing personality
-Ability to work independently and multitask in a busy family environment

Youth Employment Support:
-This position is open to youth applicants
-On-the-job training and ongoing guidance will be provided to support youth in skill development
