The City of New Westminster is looking for responsible, friendly and keen seasonal concession workers for our outdoor concessions.

Your main responsibility will be customer service and the preparation of food and beverages.

What you need to bring:
• Cash handling and POS processing skills or willingness to learn
• Customer service skills or willingness to learn
• Ability to work without supervision and in a team
• Problem solving skills
• Ability to safely clean equipment and keep work areas tidy and well stocked
• Willingness to learn processes and take direction
• Previous related experience would be an asset

Job requirements:
• Ability to tolerate extreme heat and humidity which can occur in our kitchens
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
• Ability to stand and walk for the duration of all shifts
• Ability to bend, reach and lift items up to 25 pounds
• Ability to perform other duties as assigned
• Have a valid Food Safe Certificate, Level 1
• Preferred candidates with a certificate of completion of the online WHMIS Course from the British Columbia Municipal Safety Association BCMSA online WHMIS course
• Must be able to pass and maintain a police information check including vulnerable sector check (PIC-VS)

*You must be available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays from June 27 to September 7. You must be available to work the entire season from June 27 to September 7. You must be available on the evenings and weekends from June 1 to June 26 for training. Concession workers may be scheduled to work 3 to 5 shifts per week, each shift is between 2 to 5 hours long. Please note that shifts are subject to change due to weather, attendance and events. Shifts at an outdoor concession will be cancelled on days of poor weather conditions.
