Job Description

• Assist with troubleshooting at stamping presses and repair dies.
• Set up and operate milling machines, lathes, and surface grinders.
• Measure dies parts using metric scale and inch scale.
• Disassemble and assemble to design specifications.
• Weld & operate various welding equipment.
• Experience in welding, profile grinding, cutting edges, and surfaces is an asset.
• Lift dies using a hoist or crane.
• Clean, polish, grind, and finish the die as needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance on cast transfer and progressive dies.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Prepare templates and sketches and determine work processes.
• Compute and verify dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of work pieces.
• Fit and assemble or disassemble parts using hand tools.

Required languages: English

Education level: Trades certificate or diploma

Required skills: Gauge blocks Jigs and fixtures; Metal cutting, forming or bending dies; Compound or progressive transfer dies; Forging die; Extrusion dies
