Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Painter to perform interior and exterior painting and finishing work at residential and commercial properties located at various client sites. The position offers 32–40 hours per week and requires flexible availability based on project schedules. Regular travel to different worksites is required, and all duties must be completed on-site; remote work is not available.

Responsibilities
– Prepare, clean and sand surfaces to be painted
– Repair cracks and holes
– Mix the paint to the desired colour and texture
– Measure, cut, and apply wallpaper and other fabric to walls
– Advise consumers on colours and the choice of wall coverings
– Erect scaffolding and swing stages and attach rigging
– Apply paint, wallpaper and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces
– Estimate costs and materials

Knowledge of paints, stains, varnishes and coatings. Drywall repair and finishing. Use of ladders, scaffolding and elevated work platforms. Masking, taping and protecting surrounding surfaces. Reading work orders and specifications. Measuring and estimating material requirements. Attention to detail and quality control. Time management and ability to meet deadlines. Workplace safety and WHMIS knowledge. Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials. Ability to work independently and in a team. Communication skills for interacting with supervisors and clients. Problem solving and troubleshooting surface defects. Equipment and tool maintenance.
