Job Description

• Assist the Store Manager in planning, organizing, directing and evaluating the overall operations of the grocery store, including grocery, meat, produce and front-end departments
• Participate in developing and implementing operational policies and performance standards to ensure efficiency, customer satisfaction and profitability
• Support the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets, revenue targets and operating expenses
• Review financial reports, sales data and profit margins, and recommend strategic improvements to enhance performance
• Participate in staffing decisions, including recruitment, performance management and disciplinary actions
• Oversee department supervisors and ensure effective workforce coordination across all departments
• Support supplier negotiations and monitor purchasing agreements and pricing structures
• Assist in developing and executing marketing, promotional and pricing initiatives
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, employment and food safety regulations
• Represent management in operational meetings and external business discussions as required
• Assume full managerial responsibility for store operations in the absence of the Store Manager
