Awarded a gold award in excellence for policy planning with its’ Seven Bold Steps to address climate change, our new təməsew̓txʷ Aquatic and Community Centre will embody this vision and has gained recognition as the first aquatic centre in Canada to achieve the Canadian Green Building Council Zero Carbon Building standard! For 40 years. The City of New Westminster Parks and Recreation has an opportunity for energetic self-starters to join its dynamic fitness and wellness team. The successful candidate(s) will work on auxiliary and on-call.

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
• Group fitness certification (e.g. BCRPA, Can-fit pro, ACSM) with specific indoor cycling training as an asset.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• The ability to pass and maintain a clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Experience in teaching a variety of group fitness class styles is considered an asset.
• Eligible to work in Canada.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff and build pleasant and courteous public relations with facility patrons.
• Ability to remain alert and professional while on duty.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to ensure all required awards and certifications remain current.

*Morning time blocks; 6am – 9am, Mid-day time blocks; 11am – 3pm, Evening time blocks; 5pm – 10pm
