Toronto or Ottawa (remote)

Point Blank is a remote-first workplace, with offices in Toronto and Vancouver. This position must be based in Toronto (GTA) or Ottawa Region (including Gatineau), in close proximity to our major partners.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Account Manager is responsible for building and growing trusted relationships with some of our biggest partners (clients) in labour and progressive politics, at the staff-level and senior-level, with a focus on National and Ontario partnerships. This position holds a significant portion of our partner base, and is responsible for managing high-value or strategic client accounts.

Your core accountabilities include developing strategies–and meeting targets–for partner acquisition, engagement, and retention. You will hold and deepen key relationships, identify opportunities, propose and pitch new projects, ensure successful in-project experiences, proactively identify and remediate issues, and help set the vision for our long-term work together.

The Accounts Team at Point Blank is extremely driven, proactive, and accountable. They’re the first line of response for partners–expected to advocate on their behalf, meet and exceed their needs, and make things happen. The Senior Account Manager works both independently and as part of a team, and must relate to our core values of Being Accountable, Imagining Better, and Rising Together.

REPORTING
This position works closely with the CEO and reports to the Senior Director of Strategy.

WHAT YOU DO
Lead account growth (new) and expansion (existing) for significant National and Ontario partners.
Draft long-term, annual, and quarterly plans to meet and exceed our goals, and to define our impact in your sector/region.
Advise Point Blank’s CEO and Leadership Team on the business landscape and upcoming opportunities for development to aid in their decision making and planning of company strategy.
Proactively identify opportunities with new and existing partners; drive, develop, and deliver proposals and pitches, and respond to major RFPs.
Hold and grow key relationships with partners at the senior-level in the contracting phase, during projects and in-between projects.
Conduct internal sales briefings and work with the team, convening internal subject matter experts to finalize scopes, budgets, proposals & contracts, including reviewing pricing from a client-facing lens.
Participate in project meetings and debriefs, and review key deliverables to ensure partner and goal alignment.
Document discussions with leads during client and internal meetings, and provide status updates as required.
Work within Point Blank’s CRM: create new leads in the CRM and manage lead status updates.
Play a lead role in developing marketing, budgeting and events strategies to increase our brand reputation, awareness and presence in key spaces.
Contribute to client case studies and other marketing assets to share stories about our clients’ work.
Participate in key events, conferences, meetings and other spaces as a trusted ambassador for Point Blank. Generate rapid-response content for key client, social and political moments from events.
Identify new opportunities to promote and showcase Point Blank and partner impact.
Lead, support, or participate in key projects to deliver more innovative and impactful work (ie. market research, process development, CRM, prospecting and more).
Support, train, and mentor other team members.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
5+ years proven experience managing labour and/or political relationships at the senior level. Must have a senior-level understanding of the Canadian political landscape.
3+ years experience in business development, account management, marketing, agencies and/or related consulting experience (GR, fundraising, creative, marketing, digital, etc.)
Proven ability to hold and grow positive, long-term client relationships.
Deep passion for progressive politics and issues, excitement for supporting the types of clients we work with (politics, labour, NGOs), and willingness to keep up with a quickly changing landscape.

Professional fluency in French or other languages.

COMPENSATION
This role is in Grade 7B of our wage grid which starts at $88,854 and tops out at $108,599, plus $16,000 in potential annual incentive pay, based on achievement of sales targets.
