Job Summary:
Artacia Contracting Ltd., a leading civil construction contractor in Fort St. John, BC, is seeking hardworking and reliable Excavation Workers to join our team. The successful candidates will work on large-scale earthworks, grading, trenching, excavation, and site preparation projects for residential, commercial, and infrastructure developments. This position requires physical strength, stamina, and the ability to work in all weather conditions. Excavation Workers will support equipment operators, assist with ground preparation, move materials, and perform manual labour tasks as required to ensure smooth project operations.

This position requires flexibility to work BOTH EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS, as many projects are scheduled during these periods under approved permits. Applicants must be willing and able to commit to working evenings and weekends as project needs require.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
– Assist heavy equipment operators with excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, and other site preparation activities.
– Load, unload, and move construction materials, tools, and equipment to designated work areas.
– Support civil works including culvert installation, fencing, road and lease maintenance, and erosion and sediment control.
– Level and compact earth to fine grade specifications using hand tools and compactors.
– Assemble, install, and dismantle temporary structures such as shoring, barricades, fencing, and ramps.
– Signal, spot, and guide equipment operators to ensure safe movement of machinery around work zones.
– Clear work areas of debris, rubble, and other obstructions using shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, and other manual tools.
– Assist tradespersons and equipment operators with construction activities as directed.
– Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
– Perform other manual labour and support duties as assigned by supervisors.

Wage/Salary: $24.00/hour

Hours Per Week: 40 hours per week
Terms of Employment: Full-Time, Permanent
Location of Work: Reporting to 12234 Pacific Avenue, Fort St. John, BC, V1J 8A5, will be dispatched to sites in and around the Fort St. John area.
