Job Duties

· Study blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications
· Calculate the amount and type of materials needed
· Use measuring tools to prepare layouts
· Cut, shape, and assemble wood, wood substitutes, light steel, and other construction materials
· Install finishing components, including doors, staircases, mouldings, and related hardware
· Construct foundations, install floor joists, lay subfloors, and raise wall and roof structures
· Install, align, and secure concrete formwork systems, and remove forms after the concrete has set

Job Requirements

Education: No formal education is required.
Experience: Completion of a three- to four-year apprenticeship program or 2 to 3 years of any construction-related experience will be accepted.
– Ability to work with others in a team environment.
